INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Volunteer Opportunities with Blackout Productions Entertainment
Blackout Productions Entertainment is dedicated to delivering immersive and thrilling theatrical experiences, and we are looking for volunteers who are passionate about the world of entertainment. Whether you are a student seeking hands-on experience or a seasoned professional eager to contribute, there is a place for you in our productions. Our volunteers play an essential role in bringing our shows to life, from behind-the-scenes production work to marketing and administrative tasks.

Costume Crew
The costume crew assists the Costume Designer with obtaining, creating, and maintaining costumes for each production. Their responsibilities include laundering, repairing, and returning costumes to storage or rental facilities after the show’s completion. While the ability to sew is helpful, it is not required, as many costumes can be pulled from stock, purchased, or rented. Crew members will need to be present during initial costume measurements, fittings, technical rehearsals, and performances to handle costume emergencies or special preparations. They will also assist with costume strike after the final show.

Wig & Hair Crew
The wig and hair crew works closely with the Wig Master to ensure that all wigs and hairstyles are properly maintained throughout the production. Their responsibilities include styling and maintaining wigs, assisting cast members with wig application and hairstyling, and making necessary adjustments during performances. Crew members must be present for initial wig fittings, technical rehearsals, and the full run of the show. They will also be involved in striking the wigs and hairpieces after the final performance.

Dressers
Dressers are a crucial part of the costume team, helping actors with quick costume changes during performances. They ensure that costumes are correctly prepped and assist in keeping costume changes smooth and efficient. Dressers are required to attend all technical rehearsals and performances and may have additional scheduled hours based on production needs.

Production Assistant – Administrative
The administrative production assistant supports the day-to-day operations of Blackout Productions Entertainment. This role involves tasks such as answering emails and phone calls, assisting with scheduling and logistics, and handling paperwork related to productions. There are no set hours for this role, and volunteers can have a flexible schedule. Strong organizational and computer skills are preferred.

Prop Master
The prop master is responsible for sourcing, constructing, and maintaining all props used in a production. They will work closely with the Artistic Director and Technical Team to ensure all props are accounted for, properly stored, and set up for each performance. In addition to attending technical rehearsals and performances, the prop master will be involved in the collection and organization of props before the production and during strike after the show ends.

Stage Hand
Stage Hand members are responsible for managing scenic transitions during performances. They work closely with the stage management team to move set pieces, props, and other technical elements as needed during the show. Running crew members are required to attend all technical rehearsals and performances and must wear all black during the production. They will also assist with loading the set into and out of the theater before and after the show.

Marketing & Social Media Team
The marketing and social media team is essential in spreading the word about Blackout Productions Entertainment. Volunteers in this role help manage and grow our social media presence by creating engaging content, including behind-the-scenes posts, promotional materials, and blog entries. They also distribute flyers and posters in the community and assist with press releases and media outreach. Whether you enjoy digital marketing, social media engagement, or street team promotions, this is a great opportunity to be involved in building our audience and promoting our productions.
If you’re ready to be a part of an exciting and dynamic production team, we would love to have you join us. Fill out our volunteer form today and become a part of the magic at Blackout Productions Entertainment!
